Bandung Police Deploy 2,000 Personnel To Guard The Opening Match Of The President's Cup This Afternoon
The Bandung City Police (Polresta) deployed 2,000 personnel to secure the opening match of the 2024 Presidential Cup tournament at Si Jalak Harupat Stadium, Bandung Regency, Friday 19 July afternoon.
The match will bring Persib Bandung together against PSM Makassar.
"More or less 2,000 personnel were deployed, namely during the inspection of tickets and in the highway area leading to Si Jalak Harupat Stadium. The point is that we carry out security in ring two," said Bandung Police Chief Kombes Kusworo Wibowo in Bandung, Friday, July 19, confiscated by Antara.
Kusworo said that the ring one zone to be deployed was a service officer or steward to provide security inside the stadium.
He added that the opening match was planned to be attended by President Joko Widodo so that there would be more security attached around the stadium.
"Because ring one is indeed the domain of stewards. Only ring two and ring three are the domain of the TNI and Polri. If there is a President, later there will be special security from the Kodim," he said.
Kusworo revealed that his party will carry out strict security to prevent spectators who do not have tickets and bring prohibited items into the stadium.
"We ask supporters if they come to the stadium not to carry prohibited items, come not affected by alcohol, do not do anything that could harm the home team so they are not subject to sanctions and so on," he said.

Kusworo also appealed to PSM Makassar supporters not to attend the match because it was based on the decision of the President's Cup organizers that the Persib match against PSM could not be attended by the visitors.
"For supporters, supporters can only watch the home team supporters. Meanwhile, the visitors' supporters are still prohibited and only usually watch on television," said Kusworo.
Meanwhile, Vice President of Operations of PT Persib Bandung with the dignity of Andang Ruhiat again reminded the visitors' supporters about the ban on coming to the President's Cup match which was held at Si Jalak Harupat Stadium.
"We follow the direction of PSSI and the Presidential Cup Organizing Committee that at this event, the visitors' supporters are still not allowed to attend. So, let's respect this policy together as well as possible," said Andang.
According to him, the absence of the visitors' supporters was because PSSI and FIFA were still trying to increase the Indonesian football climate to be more conducive and positive.
"Because Indonesian football is still improving, so it is necessary to have the participation of each party involved in this can maintain and follow the applicable rules," he said.
