Residents Of Cakung PIK Attacked By Mobs After Breaking Into An Empty House In Pondok Kelapa Duren Sawit

JAKARTA - A battered man was beaten by residents because he was caught breaking into an empty house left by his owner, on Jalan Al - Ikhlas, RT 01/01, Pondok Kelapa, Duren Sawit, East Jakarta, Tuesday, July 16, afternoon.

The theft was carried out by the perpetrators on Tuesday at around 13.30 WIB at noon. The perpetrator is suspected of being the sole player in the theft. He acted alone using the motorbike he was driving.

"The perpetrator himself brought a black motorbike. The perpetrator was a resident of PIK, Cakung, not a resident here. No one knew his face," said Muhdi, one of the eyewitnesses to the incident to VOI at the location, Tuesday, July 16.

Before carrying out the theft, the perpetrator first monitored the situation of the victim's house. After the situation of the victim's environment and house looks deserted, the perpetrator immediately carried out the action, entering the victim's house numbered 99 E by jumping over the fence.

"The perpetrator entered the victim's house but someone saw the residents, then shouted at him. The perpetrator jumped the fence and fled. It had reached the corner (run) and was immediately arrested and hit by the perpetrator," he said.

When arrested, residents found evidence of two cellphones belonging to the victim from the perpetrator's body. Although the perpetrator had thrown away the stolen cellphone, residents managed to find it.

"There was a cellphone, I wanted to throw it away. There were two cellphones belonging to the victim," he said.

Furthermore, residents reported the incident to the Duren Sawit Police. Members of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Duren Sawit Police who arrived at the scene immediately arrested the perpetrator. Furthermore, the perpetrator, the victim and the evidence were taken to the Duren Sawit Police for further processing.
