Drug Village In Kalipasir Menteng Raided, Police Confiscate 2 Kg Of Crystal Methamphetamine

Central Jakarta Metro Police raided a drug village in a densely populated residential area of Kalipasir, Menteng, Central Jakarta. The total amount of evidence that was confiscated was 2 kilograms of methamphetamine.

Central Jakarta Metro Police Chief, Kombes Susatyo Purnomo Condro said this disclosure was the result of Operation Nila Jaya which was held for 2 weeks with the aim of reducing the number of narcotics trafficking. This activity is carried out simultaneously in the Polda Metro Jaya area.

"Especially at the Central Jakarta Metro Police, for at least two weeks we managed to uncover 42 suspects with about 2 kg of methamphetamine," said Kombes Susatyo when confirmed, Monday, July 15.

In addition to operations held in Central Jakarta, the police also held large-scale narcotics operations, especially in the Kalipasir area, Menteng.

"Based on information from community leaders, religions and youth in Kalipasir, transactions are often a place for dealers, retailers to users," he said.

In fact, continued Susatyo, narcotics trafficking has targeted children and adolescents.

"On July 9, at around 02.00 WIB in the morning, joint personnel carried out large-scale operations with the results of 26 suspects being arrested," he said.

Eight suspects who were arrested in Kalipasir, were developed and succeeded in dismantling the existence of transaction sites as well as drug parties in several houses in Kalipasir, Menteng.

"Then we secured another large-scale operation with 18 suspects, all of whom were positive for amphetamine or methamphetamine," he said.

The perpetrators were charged with Article 114 paragraph 112 paragraph 2 of the Narcotics Law and Article 114 paragraph 112 paragraph 1 and consensus 127 paragraph 1 letter A of the Narcotics Law.

"We hope that Kalipasir will become a red zone area, and we also build a post in the Kalipasir area to provide education to the community," he said.

As a result of their actions, the perpetrators face 20 years in prison or life imprisonment.
