Sandiaga Uno Waits For Assignment From PPP In The West Java Gubernatorial Election

PURBALINGGA - Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy (Menparekraf) Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno admitted that he was still waiting for an assignment from the United Development Party (PPP) to run as a candidate for governor in the 2024 West Java Pilkada.

"This election in late August must be determined and I am still tasked with the ministry. There must be very special preparations to get an assignment, as of today the assignment has not been conveyed to me," Sandiaga said in Serang Village, Karangreja District, Purbalingga Regency, Central Java, as reported by ANTARA, Friday, July 12.

In this regard, he admitted that he was focused on serving in the ministry to revive tourism.

Because politics is very dynamic, Sandiaga will wait for the leadership of a political party to decide whether he remains in the ministry as assigned by President Joko Widodo.

"I will prioritize my duties and functions in the ministry," he said.

Asked about his readiness if he was assigned to run as a candidate for governor in the 2024 West Java gubernatorial election, he admitted that he could not say he was ready because the regional elections had to really prepare and understand the electability, quality, and contents of the bag.

Therefore, according to Sandiaga, these three things must be checked first and later the people will decide.

"But basically this regional election is very strategic because after yesterday's presidential election, this regional election will accelerate us towards Indonesia Gold 2045," said Sandiaga.

The name Sandiaga Uno appeared on the 2024 West Java Pilkada exchange after the PPP cadre was proposed by the National Awakening Party (PKB) as one of the prospective governor candidates who will compete with a number of PKB cadres who are likely to be promoted by the party.
