KPK Opportunity To Force Mining Boss To Be Absent In The Case Of Malut Governor Inactive

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) said the opportunity for the forced pick-up of Father (Robert) Nitiyudo Wachjo or better known as Haji Robert, the boss of PT Nusa Halmahera Minerals (NHM), was wide open.

He has been absent twice from the summons of investigators regarding the case that ensnared the inactive North Maluku Governor Abdul Gani Kasuba.

"Because the rules at the KPK for witnesses who repeatedly cannot attend without giving them appropriate and reasonable reasons. So investigators have the authority to pick up," said KPK spokesman Tessa Mahardika to reporters at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Friday, July 12.

Even so, Tessa still reminded the mine boss to cooperate in fulfilling the call before investigators took this step. This is because his statement is needed to shed light on the case being handled.

As for Haji Robert, investigators have been summoned twice, namely on Thursday, June 6 and Wednesday, July 3.

"We still urge cooperative witnesses to attend," he said.

The KPK previously named the inactive North Maluku Governor Abdul Gani Kasuba as a suspect in bribery and gratification cases related to the procurement of goods and services project as well as granting permits within the North Maluku Provincial Government. He is currently undergoing trial at the Corruption Court (Tipikor) at the Ternate District Court.

In addition, the KPK again ensnared Abdul Gani in the case of gratification and money laundering (TPPU). Based on information, there are two people who have been named as suspects, namely the former chairman of the Gerindra Malut Party DPD Muhaimin Syarif and the Head of the North Maluku Provincial Government Education and Culture Office, Imran Jakub.
