Terima Komite Palestina PBB, Wapres Bahas Dukungan RI Ke Gaza

JAKARTA - Vice President (Vice President) Ma'ruf Amin received an honorary visit from the UN Palestinian Committee at the Vice President's Palace in Jakarta, Thursday, July 4. The meeting discussed the support of the Indonesian government and people for the situation in Gaza, Palestine.

The Deputy Permanent Senegal for the United Nations, Cheikh Niang, in his meeting with the Vice President expressed his gratitude for the government's support and the strong commitment of the Indonesian people to Palestinian issues.

"We have a view with the Vice President regarding the situation in Palestine, especially in Gaza and we also agree that international efforts must continue to be improved, especially support from Indonesia," said Cheikh Niang who is also the Chairman of the United Nations Committee Bureau for the Implementation of Palestinian People's Rights (CEIRPP) in a press statement at the Vice President's Palace in Jakarta, Thursday, July 4, was confiscated by Antara.

Cheikh explained, during a visit by the UN Palestinian Committee to many countries, he appreciated the great support from the Government and the Indonesian people to continue to raise the issue of a ceasefire in Palestine.

On the same occasion, Palestinian Ambassador to the United Nations (UN) Riyad Mansour appreciated the positive response and response from the Vice President.

"We are very pleased to hear the positive response, the positive response from the Vice President is related to the importance of shifting the current commitment of the action plan from support to a practical step that we are doing together," said Mansour.

Mansour, who is also a Palestinian Permanent Observer, explained that there were three messages conveyed to the Vice President, namely the importance of stopping the violence and atrocities that exist in Palestine today through a ceasefire.

Then, it is important to ensure that aid to Palestine continues to flow, and the third is the state's recognition of sovereign Palestine.

The CEIRPP leadership previously met with Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi on her first visit to Indonesia agenda on Thursday, July 4.

Apart from Vice President and Foreign Minister Retno, the committee's bureau officials will also meet Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto, as well as Indonesian community organizations.

Other committee bureau members visiting Indonesia are Indonesian Permanent Representative Arrmanatha Nasir, Permanent Namibia Representative Nevillegetze, Malaysian Permanent Representative Ahmad Faisal Muhammad, and Palestinian Permanent Observer Riyad Mansour.
