Afifuddin Becomes Acting Chairman Of The KPU: Immediately Accelerate Consolidation Make Sure The 2024 Pilkada Is In Accordance With The Stages

The General Election Commission (KPU) of the Republic of Indonesia will immediately accelerate consolidation to ensure that the 2024 Pilkada runs according to existing plans and stages.

This was conveyed by Acting Chairman of the Indonesian KPU Mochammad Afifuddin at a press conference at the Indonesian KPU Office, Jakarta, Thursday, July 4.

"We are six and with the Secretary General and with all ranks including the Provincial KPU, Regency/City KPU throughout Indonesia will immediately accelerate consolidation to ensure that the 2024 Pilkada will run according to existing plans and stages," said the man who is familiarly called Afif.

He explained that so far the wheels of organization at the Indonesian KPU have been running very compactly.

For this reason, the KPU has prepared a number of post-meeting steps or closed plenary meetings related to Hasyim Asy'ari's replacement.

"God willing, after the plenary meeting or the plenary meeting, we will ensure that everything checks and accelerates to prepare everything to face several stages that are in front of us," he said.

First, the KPU will strengthen internal consolidation in the face of the follow-up to the decision of the Constitutional Court (MK), which is still partially unfinished.

"Secondly, we will face the 2024 Simultaneous Regional Elections, so what we are doing is that we want to make sure that no stages are disturbed from the organizational side of the Indonesian KPU," said Afif.

To note today, the Indonesian KPU has decided to appoint a member of the Indonesian KPU, Legal and Supervision Division, Mochammad Afifuddin, as Acting Chairman of the Indonesian KPU to replace Hasyim Asy'ari who was sanctioned by dismissal by DKPP.

The decision was based on the results of a closed plenary meeting conducted by members of the Indonesian KPU at the Indonesian KPU Office, Jakarta, Thursday, July 4.
