KPK Investigate Corruption Of Presidential Social Assistance Distributed During COVID-19
The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is currently investigating allegations of corruption in the procurement of social assistance (bansos) for the president which was distributed during the COVID-19 pandemic. There is a suspect who has been named, namely Ivo Wongkaren who is the President Director of Mitra Energi Persada.
"So the suspect IW is the development of the social assistance distribution case which has recently been decided by the Corruption Court," said KPK spokesman Tessa Mahardika to reporters at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Tuesday, June 25.
It has not been detailed whether there are other suspects in this case. However, Tessa said that this social assistance (bansos) had been distributed in Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, and Bekasi.
"This is in the context of procuring presidential social assistance related to handling COVID-19 in the Jabodetabek area at the Ministry of Social Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia in 2020," said the spokesman with the prosecutor's background.
"So the procurement of presidential social assistance in 2020. That's the case," continued Tessa

As for this case, the KPK examined two four witnesses on Tuesday, June 25. Three of them are employees of the Ministry of Social Affairs (Kemensos).
The following are the details of the witnesses examined:
1. Civil Servants at the Ministry of Social Affairs Iskandar Zulkarnaen;2. Head of Subdivision of Personnel of the Secretary-General of Social Protection and Security of the Ministry of Social Affairs RI Rizki Maulana;3. Head of Sub-Directorate for Handling Social and Political Disasters Dit. PSKBS Ministry of Social Affairs RI Victorious Saut Hamonangan; dan4. Sales Manager of CV Pacific Harvest, Anang Kurniawan.
Meanwhile, in the case of corruption in the social assistance procurement of rice as a program for the family of hope (PKH), Ivo has been sentenced to 8 years and 6 months in prison. The President Director of Mitra Energi Persada (MEP) as well as the Head of the Advisory Team of PT Primalayan Teknologi Persada (PTP) was also sentenced to a fine of Rp. 1 billion, subsidiary to 12 months in prison.
