Sony Launches Software Update For PlayStation Portal
JAKARTA Sony, via the PlayStation blog, announced that they will launch an update for the Portal PlayStation. This portable console will get some features that support remote playback. The software update for this first Portal PlayStation will begin rolling out on Wednesday, June 19. This update is released from within the system and can be installed via settings by accessing System Software Updates within the Systems menu. The PlayStation Portal will get some improvements, one of which is the support of an incoming screen for a given Wi-Fi network. With this capability, the PlayStation Portal can be used in various places that support fast and stable networks. "To connect to this public Wi-Fi network, the PS Portal will display a QR code for you scan," Sony said. "After scanned, you will be able to use your mobile device web browser to complete additional validation steps on behalf of your PS Portal."

In addition to providing connectivity support in public spaces, Sony also adds the latest visual feedback in the touch panel area. This new visual effect will appear when users use the touchboard area in remote playback mode. Users also have the option to display the percentage of battery power remaining in the status bar in the top right corner of the screen. To enable this feature, users only need to turn on the Battery Percentage mode inside the system settings. Finally, Sony has developed a Remote Play experience on the PlayStation Portal. The company said it has, "integrated the main features of the DualSense wireless controller with a dynamic 8-inch LCD screen."
