Sacrificial Animal Traders Turnover In East Jakarta Drops 30 Percent Due To School Entry Registration

JAKARTA - The seller of sacrificial animals in East Jakarta complained about the decline in the turnover of sales of goats this year. This is because the celebration of Eid al-Adha 2024 coincides with the registration time for children to enter school.

Budi, one of the seasonal sacrificial goat traders, admitted that the decline in selling turnover reached 30 percent in 2024.

"Since going to school with children, turnover has decreased by almost 30 percent. I usually bring 100 tails, this only brings 53 tails," Budi told reporters, Friday, June 14.

In addition to the time for registration to enter school, the number of sellers of sacrificial goats in Jakarta is also increasing.

The proliferation of sellers of sacrificial animals ahead of the Eid celebration has forced traders to compete to find buyers.

"You have to compete to find a buyer," he said.

The price of goats sold by Budi is varied, depending on the size of the goat being sold. However, Budi ensured that he sold goats at prices ranging from Rp. 3.5 million to Rp. 7.5 million.

"The price varies depending on the size of the goat. For the smallest 3.5 million to 4.5 million. The most expensive is 7.5 million," he said.

For goats for IDR 3.5 million, continued Budi, the goat weighs 25 - 30 kilograms. The most expensive goat price weight can be 65 kilograms.
