West Java Police Forms Legal Team To Prepare Documents To Face 'Resistance' Peti Setiawan In Pretrial
The West Java Regional Police formed a legal team to face a pretrial lawsuit filed by the attorney for the suspect Pegi Setiawan (PS) in the murder case of Vina and Muhammad Rizky or Eky in Cirebon.The Head of Public Relations of the West Java Police, Kombes Jules Abraham Abast, said that he had received information regarding the pretrial lawsuit filed by attorney Pegi Setiawan."The Kapolda has ordered to form a team from the West Java Police Legal Division. This team has been formed and of course to face a pretrial lawsuit from the PS suspect's attorney," Jules said in Bandung, Antara, Thursday, June 13.The West Java Regional Police are ready to face the pretrial lawsuit. In fact, they have prepared documents to face a pretrial lawsuit.Jules added that the father of Pegi Setiawan, Rudi Irawan, had undergone a forensic psychological examination. Meanwhile, Kartini's own mother refused to attend to undergo a forensic psychological examination."Sudah hadir dari orang tua, bapak tersangka PS, saudara Rudi. Sedangkan untuk ibu tersangka PS tidak hadir dan menolak untuk dilakukan pemeriksaan secara psikologi forensik," kata dia.He added that investigators are currently trying to quickly submit files to the prosecutor's office and hope that the filing can be completed soon and given to the prosecutor's office.As for Tuesday (11/6), as many as 22 attorneys for the suspects, Pegi Setiawan, in the murder case of Vina and Eki in Cirebon, filed a pretrial lawsuit against the Bandung District Court. They sued the determination of the status of the suspect against their client, which was deemed insufficient evidence.Previously, the case of Vina Cirebon, which occurred in 2016, re-emerged in the community after the release of the film "Vina: Before 7 Days" in cinemas throughout Indonesia.The film is based on the true story of a tragic murder experienced by a woman named Vina Dewi Arsita.The woman who was born January 16, 2000 in Cirebon, West Java was murdered and tragically raped by a group of youths.This murder case also disappeared from public conversation before finally the film "Vina: Before 7 Days" appeared this year.
The West Java Regional Police finally re-investigated this case because of the many pressures and public views who considered that there were irregularities in the investigation process.
