East Jakarta City Government Bans People From Disposing Of Sacrificial Animal Waste Into Waterways

The East Jakarta City Government (Pemkot) appealed to the Mosque Prosperity Council (DKM) and people who want to slaughter sacrificial animals independently, not to dispose of animal waste in any place.

The Mayor of East Jakarta, M Anwar said, when slaughtering, waste from sacrificial animals is collected in one container. This needs to be done in order to make it easier for cleaners who transport, so that the waste of sacrificial animals does not pollute the community.

"Make sure the cuts are well, according to existing regulations, Islamic law, secondly make sure the waste is not disposed of carelessly. It is better to put one bag in, later our officers can lift the garbage," said Mayor M. Anwar, Thursday, June 13.

The existence of sacrificial animal waste, he continued, is considered to be able to pollute the environment and have an impact on the health of the toddler residents around the disposal site.

"I don't want to see any more thrown into the canal, that's the impact on the environment, especially on toddlers. (Purmage of sacrificial animals) Including the blood, the exhaust," he added.

Meanwhile, the procedure for slaughtering sacrificial animals is good and correct, he said, the sacrificial animals must be healthy physically, not thin and not permanently disabled.

"Then the method of slaughtering, the airway and the food channel must be cut off and it is confirmed that the knife is sharp," he said.
