Defending Jokowi, PAN Calls Amien Rais' Accusation As Character Destruction
JAKARTA - Deputy Chairperson of the PAN Central Executive Board (DPP) Viva Yoga Mauladi, opened his voice regarding the accusation that the former chairman, Amien Rais, related that there were parties who wanted to change the three-term presidential term through amendments to the 1945 Constitution.
According to him, President Jokowi has clearly and constitutionally stated that he will not change the rule and run again as a presidential candidate.
"PAN supports President Jokowi's statement that was disclosed a year ago to reject the amendments to the 1945 Constitution for a presidential term of three terms," Yoga said when contacted by reporters, Monday, March 15.
Viva said that parties who discourse a three-term term can be interpreted as manipulating facts. Moreover, accusing the President of wanting to change the Constitution in the People's Consultative Assembly (MPR).
"If there is any comment from anyone that Mr. Jokowi wants a three-term presidential term. So, it is possible that he is not only framing the media with a negative connotation, but has led to character destruction," he explained.

The House of Representative (DPR) member asked all parties not to make negative framing in the mass media regarding the addition of Jokowi's term. Moreover, the COVID-19 pandemic is still ongoing, which is very draining of energy.
"We recommend that the energy of the nation's children be devoted to helping the government in restoring the national economy and eradicating the COVID-19 pandemic," said Viva.
