JAKARTA - Iker Casillas and Sara Carbonero confirmed their separation. The couple confirmed the news on their respective social media.

"Today our love as a couple takes a different but not far off path," they said.

"We will continue our duty to be dedicated parents, as we have been doing until now.

"This decision was taken and made by mutual agreement. Respect, compassion, and friendship will always exist.

"Our priority is to share the well-being of our children and protect them so that they grow up in a stable and healthy environment."

Casillas and Carbonero ended their statement by asking that their privacy should be respected.
