As Usual, Ahead Of Eid Al-Adha, Prices Of Basic Materials Soared By Almost 100 Percent
TANGERANG - Ahead of Eid al-Adha, a number of food commodities experienced an increase in Ceger Market, Pondok Aren, South Tangerang. Sellers complained because the increase almost reached 100 percent. As a result, there was a decrease in purchasing power.
Tuti, a vegetable trader, admitted that the price increase had occurred since one month ago. According to Tuti, the price increase was triggered by weather factors that caused farmers to fail to harvest. Especially near Eid al-Adha.
"Almost a month, onions rose drastically. The merchandise is usually Rp. 30 thousand now Rp. 60-70 thousand. Ordinary red onions are Rp. 40 thousand, now Rp. 65 thousand. Ordinary Kol is now Rp. 10 thousand, "said Tuti when met at Ceger Market, Pondok Aren, South Tangerang, Tuesday, May 21.
The usual tomate is now IDR 25 thousand. So the average increase is 100 percent. So, you don't buy it," he continued.
Tuti also said that with the increase in a number of basic commodities, she experienced a decrease in turnover.

"Investigating, it should be possible (the number of targets). Now it's just like this. What is clear is that people's spending is not expensive. Because here the economy is down to efficient spending. That's why it's like a 1 bomber, only Rp. 7 thousand, usually only Rp. 3 thousand," he said.
Meanwhile, Wati, one of the buyers, admitted that he was resigned to the current conditions. Despite experiencing an increase in the price of basic commodities, such as tomatoes and shallots, he admitted that he still had to buy them. Because for him, these spices are very important for his cooking.
"I don't want to buy it. But yes, I don't want it to be too expensive, right," he said.
He hopes that the government can stabilize vegetable prices, which are currently experiencing price increases.
