Intergroup Clashes In Mampang South Jakarta Area Project Construction Land, 5 People Become Suspects

JAKARTA - The South Jakarta Metro Police have named five suspects in the case of abuse that occurred in the West Kuningan area, Mampang Prapatan, South Jakarta. The suspects have the initials HD (44) RS (23), NW (25), MA (22) and DKA (45).

Deputy Head of Criminal Investigation at the South Jakarta Metro Police, Kompol Henrikus Yossi, said the incident occurred on Sunday, May 12, during the day.

It started when the victim with the initials AR (36) was buying lunch. AR passed through the suspect DKA's residence.

The suspect, who was already emotional, took a sharp weapon. Then swung the sharp weapon until it hit the victim's right arm. The victim suffered lacerations due to violent sharp objects," Yossi told reporters, Wednesday, May 15.

Due to this incident, AR and DKA reported to their respective groups. So there was a dispute due to the construction project near the scene.

"So the victim and his colleagues were disturbed and experienced a number of disturbances due to the impact of the existing development activities around the crime scene," he said.

"Well, the two groups have discussed several times, they had an agreement, but because this is repeated so that they misunderstand again. There is no solution to the initial problem, namely disruption related to development activities," he continued.

The persecution took place after the group of victims damaged the CCTV project guarded by the suspect group on Sunday, May 12, in the early hours of the morning. This stimulated the emotions of the suspect group.

"The emotion was only vented by attacking the victim using a sharp weapon. As a result, the victim suffered lacerations to his right arm and was treated for several days at the hospital," he said.

The police who received the report immediately conducted an investigation by examining a number of witnesses and CCTV at the scene.

"We managed to secure CCTV and we have identified anyone in the CCTV footage and related to the incident," he said.

Furthermore, the police arrested 4 perpetrators suspected of being involved in clashes with sharp weapons.

The evidence used is machetes, elbow iron, wood whose body parts are inserted with nails, to pointed bamboo.

"All of these items were used by the two groups during the clashes. The results of the search were obtained of a number of sharp weapons and beating weapons in both locations," said Yossi.

For his actions, 4 perpetrators of possession of sharp weapons, said Yossi, his party imposed Article 2 paragraph 1 of the Emergency Law number 12 of 1951, which carries a threat of 10 years in prison.

"Meanwhile (DKA) against persecution we apply Article 354 subsidiary 351 with a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison," he said.
