Raided By Joint Officers, Wild Jukir Confused Looking For Money Where Else
JAKARTA - A number of illegal parking attendants (jukir) in South Jakarta, admitted that they were confused about finding work after the control, because so far they only rely on their income as parking attendants.
"If parking is not allowed, I still don't know if I want to work," said Husin (70), a parking attendant at a minimarket in the Tebet area, South Jakarta, Wednesday, May 15.
Husin said that he quit his job after suffering from visual problems. To get income, Husin was forced to become a illegal parking attendant, because no one wanted to accept him to work.
According to the elderly man, he is only looking for money to make a living for himself, because so far he has no longer worked and only relies on the mercy of his children.
"Just looking for food. Because I can't work anymore," he said.
In line with Husin, another parking attendant Matsuri also still doesn't know when he has to leave his current profession, considering that finding work is also difficult.
He ensured that during his 10 years as a parking attendant, he never forced residents to give parking fees. Some even gave Rp1,000, all Rp800 was accepted and even if they didn't give it, it would not be a problem.

"I am also here to monitor the security of customers' vehicles, because they are also prone to theft here," he said.
Another parking attendant Bagus said that every day he had to deposit money to people who were watching the location, and he took turns with three other people to keep parking at the minimarket.
He added that he still did not know when there was control, but it was possible that he would return to being an online motorcycle taxi driver to make a living.
"If it is indeed prohibited, the most motorcycle taxis are prohibited. If possible, we will be trained so that we can still work," he said.
Meanwhile, the South Jakarta City Government (South Jakarta City Government) has begun to regulate and supervise illegal parking attendants and illegal parking in the area by holding action in the field.
"Today we are starting to control illegal parking attendants," said Head of the South Jakarta Transportation Agency (Sudinhub Jaksel) Bernard Octavianus Pasaribu.
He said the control and supervision of illegal parking attendants and illegal parking were carried out simultaneously in DKI Jakarta.
For the South Jakarta area, there are two sub-districts this Wednesday that are being controlled by illegal parking attendants (jukir).
According to him, at the initial stage, his party took action humanely and persuasively, when it was found that there was a illegal parking attendant, it was only recorded and given an understanding.
