Partnering With HP, Google Will Launch Project Starline In 2025

JAKARTA Google announced that it has been testing Project Starline for thousands of hours. The technology, which uses Artificial Intelligence (AI) and 3D imaging, will be launched to the public next year. Project Starline was first announced in 2021. At that time, Google explained that Starline technology would work like a magic window. The reason is, users can make online meetings, but it still feels like face-to-face. After being tested in the laboratory, Google partnered with technology firm HP to deliver Project Starline commercially. The plan, by 2025, Starline could be used on video conferencing platforms such as Google Meet and Zoom. The president of the Personal HP System, Alex Cho, said that this collaboration would create a more authentic hybrid environment. Cho believes that Starline can deliver the best virtual face experience when collaborated with a cellphone device. "Deepthful collaboration experience plays an important role in creating authentic human relationships in a hybrid environment," Cho said. "We are proud to be partnering with Google to bring this technology to market."

Project Starline will be combined with a video solution from Poly, a HP-made product. Google does not explain whether Starline will be added to Poly products that are already available or HP will create new products specifically for Starline. Google will explain the details of its devices and technologies when they are ready to be marketed. For now, Google will try to present a magic window-like technology that makes users feel they are chatting in the same room.
