Firefighters Run Over By Car While Putting Out Fire In Tegal City Square
TEGAL - Parwoto (57), one of the Tegal City Firefighters, experienced an unfortunate incident. He was run over by a fire engine (damkar) while handling a fire extinguisher at an onderdil motorcycle stall, at the Tegal City Square Night Market complex, Monday, May 13.
As a result of the incident, the man who is familiarly called Gareng suffered several injuries and had to be treated intensively in the ICU room at the Kardinah Hospital, Tegal City.
Kasatlantas Polres Tegal Kota AKP Agus Joko Guntoro explained, Parwoto suffered a fracture in the thigh of his right leg and is currently undergoing treatment at the ICU Kardinah Hospital, Tegal City.
"As a result of the diagnosis from the health team, the victim suffered a broken right leg and upper thigh. Meanwhile, the spine is in the process of further examination," said AKP Agus JK, in a written statement received by VOI, Tuesday, May 14.
According to Kasat Lalu, the temporary suspicion is that the cause of the accident was due to negligence and lack of caution, namely RF (26), a resident of Brebes Regency, who is also a colleague of the victim in one team.

AKP Agus JK explained the chronology of the incident, he said at the scene, many residents gathered behind the fire engine. However, when the driver pushed back the fire engine at high speed, it hit the victim who was behind the fire engine.
"For the time being, the cause is suspected to be due to negligence and lack of caution for the firefighter," concluded Agus JK.
According to him, the accident incident will be processed according to procedure. His party will conduct examinations of the witnesses and firefighters. Then process the crime scene and secure evidence of fire engines.
"We have secured the fire brigade driver and we have examined him for questioning by the Traffic Traffic Unit of the Tegal City Police," he concluded.
