3 Times Out Of Prison, Recidivist In Case Of Persecution Arrested After Stabing Victim In His House

The Criminal Investigation Unit (Reskrim) of the Banjarmasin Police, South Kalimantan Police (Kalsel), arrested a man with the initials MSR (25) who killed Syahruji. According to police records, MSR has been in and out of prison three times or recidivist.

Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Banjarmasin Police, Kompol Thomas Afrian, said that the perpetrator was arrested at Amanda Complex, Karang Mekar (East Banjarmasin) on Tuesday, May 7 at around 02.33 WITA. Meanwhile, the crime occurred on Jalan Mahligai Permai, Sungai Lulut (East Banjarmasin) on Sunday (5/5) at around 01.00 WITA.

The perpetrator had prepared a knife to come with eight of his friends to the victim's residence. The perpetrator asked the whereabouts of the victim's child, but because he was not informed, the perpetrator stabbed the victim's left abdomen and covered blood," he said.

After that, said Thomas, the family rushed the victim to the nearest hospital, but unfortunately the victim died after undergoing treatment for approximately 24 hours.

"After the victim reported it, the joint team immediately moved to find the whereabouts of the perpetrators, until they were arrested in the East Banjarmasin area," he said.

Thomas explained that during the arrest attempt, the perpetrator fought back which endangered the officers, then was given warning shots but was not heeded, so the officers took firm and measured action in the form of gunfire and finally the perpetrator turned himself in to be taken to the Banjarmasin Police Headquarters along with evidence.

The Banjarmasin Police revealed the facts at the time of the arrest, the perpetrator admitted his actions and admitted that he had committed the act because of the hurt factor against the victim's child who hit the perpetrator's friend.

"The perpetrator was charged with Article 351 paragraph 3 of the Criminal Code with acts of persecution that caused the loss of a person's life," said Thomas.
