Minister Of Religion Yaqut Visits Catering Company In Medina, Checks Food For Hajj Candidates

JAKARTA - Minister of Religion Yaqut Cholil Qoumas ensured that food for the elderly pilgrims (elderly pilgrims) would be adjusted to their needs, so that protein and nutrition would still be met.

"Last year the kitchen performance was good. I also see that there is already an allocation for food menus for elderly pilgrims. I hope this kitchen can provide the best service for pilgrims," said the Minister of Religion in Medina, quoted from Antara, Friday, May 10.

The statement was made by the Minister of Religion after reviewing a catering company in Medina. The catering kitchen will serve 20 percent of the elderly friendly food. Food is served with the same menu, only rice and side dishes are cooked to make it smoother and softer. One of the options is in the form of team rice.

The Minister of Religion is also familiarly talking with several chefs and assistant chefs in the kitchen and most of them from Indonesia.

This opportunity was used by the Minister of Religion to ask many questions, ranging from the availability of vegetables and spices from the archipelago, to tempeh and tofu.

Yaqut did not forget to ask about the readiness of storage areas and the availability of foodstuffs. According to Wan Abdurrahman, this kitchen has six large storage items. You can see that beef, chicken, fish, and eggs food ingredients are also available in an air-cooled room.

Indonesian seasoning also overflows, such as lemongrass, lengkuas, kencur, pandan leaves, orange leaves, greetings, coconut milk, tamarind, and peanuts.
