Preventing Diseases From Coming, Oku Flood Victims Are Examined By The Police Health Team

JAKARTA - The Sie Medical Doctor Team (Dokkes) of the Ogan Komering Ulu (OKU) Police, South Sumatra carried out active health checks and free treatment for flood victims that occurred in the local area.

OKU Police Chief AKBP Imam Zamroni in Baturaja, said that the health check was carried out as a form of Polri's concern for victims of natural disasters in order to avoid various diseases caused by flooding.

The social service activities are carried out by picking up the ball to every evacuation post for flood victims in several sub-districts in the area.

"This free health and treatment examination is intended for flood-affected communities who are still in refugee posts and who have returned to their homes," he said, AKBP Imam Zamroni, ANTARA, Friday, May 10.

The free examinations and treatments provided include coin cold, hypopertension, fungal itching, and other skin diseases.

The Sie Dokkes team in the field also provides vitamins to the community to increase endurance while in the evacuation so that they are not susceptible to infectious diseases.

He hopes that these social service activities can help the community to avoid diseases that arise after natural disasters.

"Previously we have also distributed basic food assistance. Hopefully what the Police are doing can help ease the burden on people affected by natural disasters," he said.

Meanwhile, Sugiono, one of the flood victims in West Baturaja District, admitted that he was happy to get the free health services provided by the medical officers from the OKU Police.

"People are willing to queue patiently to get their turn for a medical examination from the OKU Police Dokkes medical team to make sure they don't get sick due to flooding," he said.
