Heru Budi Calls TB Disease Like Submarine: No Sound, Continues To Infect The Community
JAKARTA - Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono asked all his staff to intensify the prevention of the spread of tuberculosis (TBC).The handling of this more intensive TB prevention, referred to by Heru, needs to be done in order to realize a TB-free Jakarta in 2030."This tuberculosis is a disease that I call a submarine. It is silent, there is no sound, it continues to spread the people of Jakarta. So I ask the sub-district and village heads, and of course the mayor, regent to consistently reduce TB," said Heru at the National Library building, Central Jakarta, Wednesday, May 8.Currently, there are 60 thousand TB cases in Jakarta. A total of 59 thousand cases are drug-sensitive, while 1,203 cases or 2 percent of them are cases that are immune to drugs. The TB recovery rate in Jakarta is still up to 81 percent. Meanwhile, the DKI Provincial Government is targeting a 90 percent cure rate. Therefore, Heru asked his staff to the RSUD to handle the comprehensive TB case without distinguishing Jakarta residents and outside the region."Even though he is a non-Jakarta resident, for example, when he is treated in Jakarta, this resident must be informed to the village head, or the village head or the local sub-district head. My hope can be handled properly," explained Heru.On that occasion, Heru announced the Tuberculosis Alert Village (TBC). The TBC Alert Village will open in 267 RW which will be built from today until September 2024.
This effort will be continued with Innovation for the Acceleration of TB Management in carrying out basic health services related to TB, community empowerment, and massive health promotions in each TBC Alert Village that has been formed.
