The Thief Of Bracelets At The Tangerang Area Gold Shop Brings A Toy Gun
TANGERANG - A man in Tangerang was beaten by a mob and battered, after being arrested by residents for stealing a gold necklace worth Rp. 100 million at a gold shop on Jalan Prabu Siliwangi, Jatiuwung, Tangerang City, last Monday, May 5.
The Head of Public Relations of the Tangerang City Metro Police, Kompol Aryono, said the perpetrator was known as Asem (30), his modus operandi was to pretend to buy gold and run away.
"The perpetrator) is pretending to be a buyer," said Aryono in his statement, Wednesday, May 8.
Aryono detailed that at that time the perpetrator came alone by pretending to buy gold. The shop waiter served well and complied with Asem's request.
The shop employee named Silvy then gave the perpetrator a gold bracelet weighing 50 grams of 90 percent. Then convincingly, the perpetrator also asked to see the gold necklace with the same weight and level, and given it too," he said.
Furthermore, continued Aryono, the perpetrator did not make transactions, instead asked for permission to take pictures of the bracelets and necklaces that were already in his hands, and were allowed by the shop waiter. However, the perpetrators fled with the two golds.
"Knowing that the bracelet and gold necklace were taken away by the perpetrator, the shop owner, Johan Wijaya, immediately chased the perpetrator while shouting'stealer'," he said.
The victim was assisted by residents to chase the perpetrator until he was arrested and judged by residents. Luckily, the police immediately went to the place of the incident (TKP). Then the perpetrator was arrested and taken to the Jatiuwung Police.
"When the search was carried out, the perpetrator hid the evidence of gold in the shoes he was wearing. Not only that, it turned out that the perpetrator was also carrying a match-type toy firearm in his waist bag," he said.
For his actions, the perpetrator was charged with Article 362 of the Criminal Code concerning theft with a penalty of 5 years in prison.
