Police Name 4 Suspects In Unpam Student Beating Case While Praying Rosario
TANGERANG - Police have named four suspects in the case of beating students at Pamulang University (Unpam) while praying Rosario on Ampera Poncol Street, Setu, South Tangerang. One of the four suspects is the head of the local RT, with the initials D.
"We conclude that there is sufficient evidence so that several witnesses involved are named as suspects," said South Tangerang Police Chief, AKBP Ibnu Bagus Santoso to reporters at the South Tangerang Police, Tuesday, May 7.
Ibnu explained that the incident began when a group of students was praying Rosario in the victim's rented house.
At that time, the head of the RT went to the students' rented house, and asked to stop the prayer because it was considered disturbing.
Not long after, several people came to find out what happened, so that as a result of the screams there was a commotion and misunderstanding. There was violence and caused casualties," he said.

When the beating took place, the occupants of the rented house recorded acts of violence perpetrated by the suspects against students. In fact, it is said that 2 residents carried sharp weapons of the type of knife.
The police who received the information carried out an investigation until they finally arrested 4 suspected perpetrators. In addition, the police also secured a number of evidences in the form of sharp weapons (sajam) of the type of knife.
For his actions, four perpetrators were charged with Article 2 Paragraph 1 of the Emergency Law no. 1951 in conjunction with Article 170 of the Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 351 of the Criminal Code paragraph 1 in conjunction with Article 335 of the Criminal Code with a maximum threat of 10 years in prison.
