Attorney For BTN Bank Customers Please Ex-KPK Commissioners Who Served Komut At BTN Bank Don't Be Silent

JAKARTA - The attorney for Bank BTN customer, Gregorius Upi, asked the management of Bank BTN to immediately intervene to immediately resolve the case of the alleged loss of tens of billions belonging to the customer. Moreover, said Gregorius, there is former (ex) KPK Commissioner (Komisi Pemberantasan Korupsi) Chandra Hamzah who is currently the President Commissioner of Bank BTN. Gregorius believes Chandra Hamzah understands the alleged act of embezzlement of customer money.

"Moreover, I know that the Commissioner at Bank BTN has a former KPK Commissioner, Mr. Chandra. Pak Chandra must understand better than us. Pak Chandra must know better what to do related to the alleged embezzlement of customer money," Gregorius told reporters.

"Therefore, Mr. Chandra should not be silent, we ask you to do it with the authority you have because you have good experience and track records on how to deal with corruption. Don't let cases as small as this damage the reputation that has been built for years," he added.

Gregorius explained that the case had been reported to the Polda Metro Jaya.

"Regarding the law enforcement process, we have made a police report at Polda Metro Jaya and are being handled. There are allegations that there is a flow of funds entering one of the branch leaders, we ask the police to thoroughly investigate," he said.

Gregorius admitted that he was surprised why the customer's money stored at Bank BTN could be lost. According to him, customers should be able to access their accounts.

"This money belongs to a customer who is deposited into his own account, customers should be able to access that account, not someone else. Now the question is why other people can access that account, meaning there is bank negligence," said Gregorius Upi.

Meanwhile, BTN Corporate Secretary, Ramon Armando, firmly denied the case of the loss of customer funds at Bank BTN.

Ramon said, regarding the employees involved in the incident, Bank BTN had taken firm action by dishonorably dismissing them. They have also been sanctioned by the authorities.

"The BTN employees involved have been dishonorably issued and sentenced by the authorities," Ramon said in a written statement that was part of BTN's right to answer to VOI.
