7 People Found Dead In A Burned Shophouse In Mampang, South Jakarta
JAKARTA 7 people were reported to have died in a fire incident at the Bingkai 'Brother Frame' shop in Mampang, South Jakarta. The fire incident occurred since Thursday night, April 18 at around 19.30 WIB.
Mampang Prapatan Police Chief, South Jakarta Metro Police Commissioner David Yunior Kanito said seven victims died as a result of a shophouse fire were found in one room on the second floor.
"All the victims have been found in one room on the second floor," said David in Jakarta, Friday, April 19.
According to him, currently officers are still carrying out the process of evacuating the bodies of the victims of the shophouse fire in Mampang Prapatan, after the fire was successfully extinguished and the cooling process was complete.
"Currently, efforts are being made to evacuate the bodies," he said.
He added that apart from causing seven deaths, the fire at the Bro Frame and Galery shophouses in Mampang Prapatan also resulted in five people being burned.
Currently, the five injured victims, said David, are still being treated at the hospital, namely at the Pertamina Central Hospital (RSPP) as many as three people and at the Mampang Prapatan Hospital as many as two people.
"The victim suffered burns in several parts such as his head, hands, and feet," he said.

Previously, the Head of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Fire and Rescue Service (Gulkarmat), Satriadi Gunawan, said officers had succeeded in extinguishing the fire that burned a shophouse and currently a cooling process is still being carried out.
"The situation is the cooling process. There is no more fire, because the smoke is still thick, so we pull the smoke by making ventilation so that firefighters can enter in quietly," said Satriadi.
According to him, the fire could be extinguished by officers for about four hours after the fire incident which was informed on Thursday, April 18, at around 19.30 WIB.
Satriadi said officers extinguished the fire both from outside and inside the burning shop, to speed up the extinguishing.
