New Moon Not Seen, Saudi Arabia Completes Ramadan Fasting For 30 Days: Eid Al-Fitr On Wednesday
JAKARTA - The new sickle moon, which marks the turn of the moon in the Islamic Qmariyah Calendar, was not successfully observed in Saudi Arabia on Monday, so this year's Ramadan fast will be completed 30 days and 1 Syawal 1445 Hijriyah or Eid falls on Wednesday.
"The sickle moon does not appear in Saudi Arabia. Therefore, Eid al-Fitr will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 10, 2024," wrote X HaramainInfo's social media account as quoted April 8.
Meanwhile, the social media account X The Holy Mosques in his upload also wrote the same thing.
"Sabit is NOT SEEN in the Kingdom today," he wrote.
In a separate upload, Saudi Arabia's Chief Astronomist Abdullah Al-Khudairi said the moon is a sign of the arrival of the new moon difficult to see because of the clouds.
"It's hard to see the scycling of Syawal because of the clouds," The Holy Mosques tweeted.
Earlier, the Saudi Arabian Supreme Court on Saturday appealed to the public to see the hilal Syawal on Monday evening local time.
