Crew Of Cargo Ships From China Fall In Kotabaru Waters, South Kalimantan, Basarnas Conducts Search
KALSEL - Basarnas conducted a search for a crew member (ABK) named Gong Yu Wu (57), the color of a foreign country (WNA) from China that fell from a cargo ship in the waters of Pulau Sembilan, Kotabaru, South Kalimantan (Kalsel).
Head of Basarnas Banjarmasin Al Amrad said the victim reportedly fell from a ship around the waters of Sembilan Kotabaru Island on Tuesday 6 April.
"The crew of the ship had been looking for victims all over the ship's cabin for a while but was not found," Al Amrad said when confirmed in Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan, Sunday, April 7, as reported by Antara.
Based on the information received, Al Amrad explained that the cargo ship named Guo Yuan 12 departed from Muara Berau with a destination to Singapore on Friday, April 5
Then on Saturday 6 April, at around 11.40 WITA, the ship's crew realized that the victim was not on the ship.
He said, after a while later, the Captain of the Ship reported to the China MRCC (SAR Center-Beijing) and forwarded to the Basarnas Command Center (BCD), until it was finally forwarded to the Banjarmasin Basarnas Office to continue the search for victims.
"After receiving information that a foreigner from China fell in the waters of South Kalimantan, we immediately dispatched a team from the Kotabaru SAR Post to conduct a search," he said.

Al Amrad also explained that for the time being, the search for victims was carried out according to the latest information in which the last point of the victim was declared missing from the ship, namely around the waters of Pulau Sembilan, precisely at coordinates 4°33'48.00" S-115 deg44'24.00 "E.
Meanwhile, the characteristics of the victim have a posture with a height of about 170 centimeters, wearing a blue shirt and a red helmet.
"Until today, the search is still in progress, of course we hope that the team can carry out the search optimally so that victims are found soon," said Al Amrad.
