Lampung Police Unload Online Prostitution At Kos Places
BANDAR LAMPUNG - The General Criminal Directorate of the Lampung Police exposed prostitution through social media by conducting raids on a boarding house on Jalan Soekarno Hatta, Labuhan Ratu, Bandarlampung.
The Head of Public Relations of the Lampung Police, Kombes Umi Fadillah Astutik, said that the disclosure of the case began with information from the public who was restless because there were boarding houses that were used as places for prostitution.
"When the officers carried out the raid, there were 6 rooms occupied by 6 women, of which 5 were minors," said Umi Fadilah Astutik, in Bandarlampung as reported by ANTARA, Monday, April 1.
When forced efforts were made to open the door of the boarding house, there were still two people serving the masher guests.
After undergoing examination, the prostitution activity has been going on for one year. Investigators named six people as suspects including DA (27), PH (21), MH (22), HA (39), AN (26) and NS (18) In addition, officers also secured evidence of 6 motorbikes, 12 cell phones, contraceptives, genital lubricants, and clothes.
The roles of the suspects, DA as pimps, while PH, MH, and NS act as admins who offer services through social media applications. Meanwhile, AN and HA play a role in picking up and dropping guests and providing comfort to guests," he said.
Umi explained that the modus operandi of the perpetrators was to lure the victim to give luxury items such as iPhones, TVs, motorbikes, and victims' necessities by giving debts to the victim.

"So the perpetrators offered money and luxury loans to the victim by making debt securities to the victim. After the victim who had received the money, he was required to pay in installments by paying through prostitution services," he explained.
Umi explained that the victims who were unable to pay and wanted to stop serving the masher, the victims had to pay a fine of Rp. 8 million.
"The motive is because the economy of these victims is from outside Bandarlampung and dropped out of school. The victims are priced at Rp. 250 thousand per date, the victim is given a salary of Rp. 50,000. The victim is currently undergoing trauma healing and is under the protection of the Lampung Regional Police," he said.
For their actions, the suspects were charged with Article 2 paragraph 1 of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 21 of 2007 concerning the elimination of criminal acts of trafficking in persons. With a maximum penalty of 15 years in prison.
