In the past, A Mai was the daughter of an official named Jingguo and witnessed the massacre of his family. He learned that the perpetrator of the murder was Chen Qi (Sun Shao Long), a person he had known since he was a child.

A Mai ran away and disguised herself as a man. In his escape, he held a grudge for Chen Qi and studied self-defense consistently.
