Bawaslu Calls The South Tangerang KPU Not Ready To Face The 2024 Election

TANGERANG - Chairman of the South Tangerang General Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu), Muhammad Acep, assessed that the General Election Commission (KPU) of South Tangerang was not careful in carrying out its duties in the 2024 General Election.

"We consider that the KPU is not ready and not careful so that it makes differences in the contents and writings in the envelope," Acep said when confirmed, Thursday, February 15.

Not without reason, said Acep, there are several obstacles at the TPS in the region. Starting from the lack of ballots in a number of polling stations to inappropriate data.

"(Then) the TPS that is opened is above 8 o'clock and some data is not in accordance with the delivery process," he said.

Acep gave an example, the mistakes that occurred at TPS 68, for example. The number of permanent voters (DPT) was 284 voters, but the ballot sent by the KPU to the TPS was 300 ballots.

"The number of DPT is 284 but the ballot is sent in excess of 291 and the silence is written in 290 DPR RI ballots, the ballot is 300 but it is written 290 in the envelope," he said.

Still, Acep said, in the Ciputat area, there are several polling stations experiencing a shortage of presidential/vice-presidential candidate ballots from the total number of DPT as many as 100 ballots.

"Then also the matter of DPTB is still a problem because there is 1 DPTB that gets 1 ballot but instead 5 ballots are given," he concluded.
