Kiai And Santri In West Java Titip Amanah For Cak Imin, Maintain Constitutional Ethics Side By Side With The People

JAKARTA 1,111 kiai throughout West Java have declared support for presidential and vice presidential candidate pair number 1 Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar at a hotel in Soreang District, Bandung Regency, West Java, Wednesday night, February 7.

The statement of support was read by KH Abu Bakar from the Al Masthuriyah Islamic Boarding School and witnessed directly by the vice presidential candidate.

"We, the kiai and students who are members of Munajat, the Nahdliyin Islamic Boarding School Council in West Java, entrust the mandate, message, and fate of this nation to Gus Muhaimin (Cak Imin), especially in maintaining the constitution in favor of the people, so that the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia is always in Ridha Illaki," said Abu Bakar when reading the declaration.

After that, thousands of other kiai also read out the announcement to the candidate pair Anies-Muhaimin (AMIN).

"We kiai and the community of Islamic boarding schools throughout West Java encourage students, Nahdliyin, and the people of West Java to:

1. Use his voting rights in the general election on February 14, 20242. Actively guarding elections that are honest, fair, peaceful, and civilized3. Choosing the presidential and vice presidential candidate pair number 1, Mr. Anies Baswedan and Gus Muhaimin Iskandar

After receiving the announcement and statements of support attitude, Muhaimin also admitted that he was increasingly optimistic that the AMIN candidate pair could reap the votes of West Java.

"This is extraordinary support and I am asked to be committed to maintaining constitutional ethics, continuing the struggle for education for Islamic boarding schools and madrasas. That is part of our vision and mission (AMIN)," said Muhaimin receiving the mandate of the kiai.

The General Election Commission (KPU) of the Republic of Indonesia has determined three participants in the 2024 presidential election, namely the Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar pair number 1, Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka number 2, and Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD number 3.

The 2024 election campaign period will take place from 28 November 2023 to 10 February 2024. After the campaign period, there will be a calm period on 11-13 February 2024. Then, the voting schedule will take place simultaneously on 14 February 2024.
