Fahira Idris Allegedly Campaigned Using The Transportation Agency Ship, The DKI Provincial Government Gives Permission Because It Includes A Letter From The Secretary General Of The DPD

Head of the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency, Syafrin Liputo, explained the reason why his party allowed the incumbent DPD legislative candidate, Fahira Idris, to use the DKI Transportation Agency ship to the Thousand Islands.

The use of the Dishub ship by Fahira has caused problems because it is suspected of carrying out campaign activities as a candidate for the 2024 DPD using government-owned facilities.

Syafrin admitted that when applying for a license to use the ship, Fahira included a letter from the Secretary General (Sekjen) of the DPD RI. The reason was that Fahira borrowed the Dishub ship for her work activities.

"As the letter from the Secretary General of the DPD RI is equipped with a reference framework, that the activity is in the context of the DPD RI program, so the person concerned asks us to use the Transportation Agency ship," said Syafrin at DKI Jakarta City Hall, Tuesday, February 6.

In the permit application letter, Syafrin also admitted that Fahira did not include campaign activities to use the Transportation Agency ship.

"Because this is a DPD activity, our DPD program supports it as other activities. So, there is no request for a campaign or so on. Nothing. More because of the DPD program, as a DPD, and there is a letter from the secretariat," explained Syafrin.

Previously, the DKI Jakarta Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) was investigating a number of campaign violations ahead of the 2024 general election (Pemilu), one of which was the alleged campaign activity using the DKI Transportation Agency ship to the Thousand Islands.

The alleged campaign using government-owned facilities, continued Benny, was included in the findings of the Thousand Islands Bawaslu supervision at the location of the activity at that time.

"In the search on Pulau Seribu, there was an allegation that one of the DPD candidates, Fahira Idris, used government facilities, ships. It was being traced by the Thousand Islands Bawaslu," said the Coordinator of the DKI Jakarta Bawaslu Violation Handling Division, Benny Sabdo, to reporters.

"All of this is still being investigated. If the alleged violations and the evidence are strong, of course we will take firm action," continued Benny.
