Jumengan Ceremony At The Surakarta Palace Was Held Simple
SURAKARTA - The 20th Dalem Jumeningan Tingal Ceremony at the Surakarta Hadiningrat Kasunanan Palace was held simply without a carnival, because it was near the 2024 Presidential Election day.
Paku Buwana XIII's younger brother, GKR Wandansari or who is familiarly called Gusti Moeng, said that this time the carnival was not held, because the election was quiet.
"Because this has entered a calm day, everything is holding back so that there are no political mounts. In fact, my experience does not benefit the palace," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, February 6.
He said that this time there were not many guests who were invited to the birthday tradition of rising the throne of the king. Because the jumengan is held on weekdays, so not many guests can come to jumengan events.
One of the relatives of the KPH palace, Eddy Wirabhumi, said that around 200 guests were invited directly by the King of PB XIII.
"Out of the king's invitation, we invited 100 people. In addition, there were also representatives from several ministries and guests from abroad, our friends," he said.

"Today the 20th will be carried out. It will be carried out well, smoothly, all present, both guests and Sentono dalem," he said.
Regarding the carnival, he said, is a cultural attraction to support regional tourism. However, the country is currently entering election preparations.
"So, we reduce ceremonial activities in the public. Even though it is simple, hopefully the event will remain solemn," he said.
