Stay Absent In Proliga, PBV Yuso Focuses On Livoli And Player Development
YOGYAKARTA - The PBV Yuso Club (Union of Sports Facilities Yuana Volleyball) is again absent at Proliga. This legendary club from Yogyakarta chose to focus on the Indonesian Volleyball (Livoli) and youth development.
Yuso's club made interim changes (PAW) after the old General Chair took office. A reshuffle of the management was carried out.
Wijihastuti, who was previously also appointed as the General Chair of PBV Yuso for the 2021-2025 period. Saturday, January 27, 2024, a new management inauguration was made as well as a celebration.
"We are only continuing the old management which will end in 2025. This is because the general chairman has resigned for a long time so that interim changes must be made. This change will not affect the organizational wheels and targets of the club," said Wijihastuti in Yogyakarta, Monday, January 29, 2024.
According to Wijihastuti, despite the change in the middle of the management, the club is still running because it already has a solid foundation.
Moreover, Yuso's main principle is mutual cooperation, simplicity and shared enthusiasm to build volleyball.
This makes Yuso the oldest volleyball club in the archipelago to exist. They carry out sustainable youth coaching.
Regarding the club's target in the competition during its management, Wijihastuti said that Yuso is targeting to stay in the highest caste, Main Division, Livoli.
"Yuso has successfully promoted from Division One. Next, we are trying to stay in the Main Division. Frankly, it is not easy to compete in the highest caste of Livoli. The competition is getting tighter," he said.
Regarding the possibility of returning to Proliga, Wijihastuti, who is also a businessman, said Yuso had not thought about competing again in the professional volleyball league.
Yuso's men's team last fought in Proliga in 2012. Meanwhile, the women's team left Proliga first, in 2002.
Since then, they have never returned to the arena. On the other hand, Yuso is still regularly competing in Livoli which will be held in October 2024.
"We are still focused on Livoli. Moreover, Yuso has returned to the Main Division. It is not easy to face competition in the Main Division which is much tighter," said Tutek, his nickname.

"On the other hand, when we return to Proliga, we will have to prepare a lot of funds. At least we have to partner with sponsors if we want to compete in Proliga. We need funds of no less than Rp. 10 billion to participate in the Proliga. It is better for us to use such a large fund to develop young people," he said.
Yuso continues to foster young volleyball athletes. Moreover, Yuso will host the U-17 National Championship (Kejurnas) which will be held in DI Yogyakarta, June 22-30, 2024. In the last National Championship, Yuso's team was able to rank three.
"This year, I hope Yuso achieves better achievements. At least the men's and women's teams enter the final even though the competition is also tight. In the last edition, 70 participants participated," said Wijihastuti.
