Eva Mendes Bela Ryan Gosling After The Controversy Of Ken's Role

JAKARTA - Eva Mendes expressed support for her partner, Ryan Gosling moments after the actor was nominated for Best Supporting Actor at the 2024 Oscars. Gosling received the nomination thanks to the Barbie film directed by Greta Gerwig.

Mendes, who uploaded a photo of Gosling as Ken, also received a negative response from the public. It is known, Ryan Gosling's co-star, Margot Robbie, did not receive a nomination for her acting.

When Ryan Gosling's first appearance as Ken was revealed, public negative reactions also appeared until the hashtag #NotMyKen (not my Ken) became a conversation. They think Gosling is not suitable to play a Barbie couple.

"Very proud of my man. A lot of hatred when he took on this role. Many people tried to embarrass him for doing it," said Eva Mendes on her Instagram account.

Eva Mendes ended her post by writing, "Very proud to be Ken's Barbie."

Ryan Gosling's co-star, America Ferrera also praised Ryan Gosling's appearance as Ken. Ferrera also received a nomination at the Oscars for the Best Supporting Actress category.

"He's so amazing Ken! Giving a triple show! We were so lucky it was him and I'm so grateful for what he shows and continues to support all the women in this process! He's a kind and classy talent! " wrote America Ferrera.

Eva Mendes then replied Ferrera's comment with, Cheers! I love you! You are also cool, reina!!
