BMKG Asks Residents To Beware Of Waves 6 Meters In The Natuna Sea Until January 31
KEPRI - The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) appealed to the public to be aware of waves with a height of 6 meters that could potentially occur in the North Natuna Sea, Riau Islands (Kepri). Head of the Class III Meteorological Station Ranai Ferimex Hutagalung said the 6 meter wave was categorized as very high waves. The potential is expected to occur during the period January 25-31. In addition, waves with a height of 4 meters or a high category also have the potential to occur in the western era of the Natuna Islands, Subi-Serasan Islands Waters, North Waters of the Natuna Islands.
"A wave height of 1.25-2.5 meters or is likely to occur in the Natuna Sea area, the South Waters of the Natuna Islands-Midai Island," he said. Such conditions, he continued, were due to the increasing high pressure on the Asian plains, affecting the increase in wind speed and sea wave height in the Natuna Waters area.
