Responding To The Prabowo-Gibran Free Milk Program, Mahfud: Only Small Imports
JAKARTA - Candidate for vice president (cawapres) number three, Mahfud MD said the government is still importing a number of community needs. So, he believes that the free milk program belonging to pair number two, Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka, is also fulfilled in the same way.
"So far, we have imported only small ones. Salt, onions, fruit are imported as well," Mahfud told reporters in Jakarta, Friday, January 5.
Mahfud appreciated the couple's idea as an effort to prevent stunting. However, the fulfillment of the program should not rely on imports but comes from within the country.
This will be announced with the presidential candidate number three, Ganjar Pranowo. "If we don't want to import it," said the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs (Menko Polhukam).
"Therefore, when talking about eating, I'm talking about gastronomi, eating ethics, etiquette in eating is not just my imagination," he continued.
Previously reported, Prabowo had agreed to import 1.5 million cows to meet the needs of the free milk program. This effort was made because domestic production had not yet reached the required figure.
Moreover, the milk to be distributed must have good quality. This couple does not want to use packaged milk that contains sugar and preservatives.
