Jokowi Has Not Decided On A Replacement For Edward Omar Sharif In The Position Of Deputy Minister Of Law And Human Rights
JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo admitted that he had not yet decided who the new deputy minister of law and human rights (wamenkumham) would replace Edward Omar Sharif Hiariej alias Eddy Hiariej.Eddy Hiariej is currently a suspect in the alleged bribery and gratification case."Not yet, not yet (I decided)," said Jokowi after reviewing the Monas MRT Station project, which is included in the MRT Phase 2 project of the HI-Ancol Roundabout, in the Monas area, Central Jakarta, Antara, Friday, December 15.Jokowi has signed Presidential Decree (Keppres) Number 57/M concerning the dismissal of Deputy Minister of Law and Human Rights Edward Omar Sharif Hiariej on December 7, 2023.The signing of the presidential decree was carried out after Eddy Hiariej submitted a letter of resignation to President Jokowi through the Ministry of State Secretariat on Monday, December 4, 2023.Meanwhile, Minister of Law and Human Rights Yasonna H. Laoly said whether or not there was a position for Deputy Minister of Law and Human Rights to replace Eddy Hiariej was under President Joko Widodo's authority.
"The President's business is not our business (me). We are ready to order," said Yasonna at the Presidential Palace, Jakarta.
