Tersanjung Mahfud Considers Cak Imin A Tough Debate Opponent, Anies: It's Not The Vice President Candidate That Appears Suddenly

BEKASI - Presidential Candidate (candidate) number 1, Anies Baswedan, is honored by the statement of presidential candidate (cawapres) number 3, Mahfud MD who considers the vice presidential candidate number 1 Muhaimin Iskandar (Cak Imin) to be the toughest rival in the 2024 presidential election debate."So if Mr. Mahfud said that earlier, yes, we thank you because indeed Gus Imin is a vice presidential candidate who has complete competence and a vice presidential candidate who does not appear suddenly," said Anies at the Islamic Center of Bekasi City, West Java, Friday, December 15.According to Anies, Cak Imin is a vice presidential candidate who has been active in the organizational movement since childhood, one of which has served as General Chair of the Indonesian Islamic Student Movement (PMII).However, even though the General Chairperson of the PKB is a family of Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) officials, Cak Imin does not run the organization by jumping directly in a high position."So if it is now seen as punctuating, yes it has indeed been tested. Tested by whom? By time, by the challenges with the tenacity that he has passed. So, I am very proud of my partner, Gus Imin," explained Anies. Thus, Anies believes Cak Imin is ready to face a second debate specifically for vice president based on his organizational experience."Preparation is the course of his career, because everything that will be asked later in the debate event will answer the provisions, career journeys, and memorization," he said.Previously, Mahfud MD mentioned the number one vice presidential candidate, Muhaimin Iskandar or Cak Imin as the toughest opponent of the debate that will be faced during the vice presidential debate on December 22.It is known that the second debate will be held by the General Elections Commission (KPU) next week. The theme will be related to the Economy (regional economy and the digital economy), Finance, Tax Investment, Trade, Management of the APBN-APBD, Infrastructure, and Urban. My toughest “Lawan, Cak Imin, ” Mahfud told reporters in Jakarta.
Even so, Mahfud did not want to underestimate the number two vice presidential candidate, Gibran Rakabuming Raka. Moreover, the debate will be unpredictable.“Mas Gibran, Cak Imin is equally heavy. It's both spontaneous, ” said the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs (Menko Polhukam).
