Elderly In Batik Clothes Almost Killed By Mobs After Stealing A Cellphone Belonging To A Warteg Servant

JAKARTA - Surya Wijaya, an old man wearing batik clothes almost died when he was arrested by residents, after stealing a cellphone belonging to a warteg trader on Jalan Kampung Sumur, Klender, Duren Sawit District, East Jakarta. Luckily, the perpetrator was arrested from the tantrums of the residents who arrested him.

The perpetrator was arrested by a buser member of the Duren Sawit Police. The security of the perpetrator was led by the Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Duren Sawit Police, Aipda Mursidi. When arrested, the perpetrator was battered, fortunately the police arrived quickly.

"The perpetrator's mode of buying food at warteg, then stealing a cellphone. We brought the perpetrator along with the evidence to the Duren Sawit Police," said Aipda Mursidi when arresting the perpetrator.

Meanwhile, from the perpetrator's body, the victim's cellphone was found. In addition, buser members also confiscated the identity card of the perpetrator.

According to Prapti, a warteg trader, the incident began when the perpetrator bought food at warteg and asked traders to wrap up their food using the Styrofoam place.

"He ordered rice with chicken. Ask to use Styrofoam," Prapti told reporters, Wednesday, December 13.

However, because warteg did not have the container requested by the perpetrators, the warteg trader finally ordered his son to buy it Styrofoam.

However, when the merchant was preparing food, the perpetrator entered the shop and took the victim's cell phone which was placed in the storefront.

"This man went inside, he gave him Rp50 thousand, he said it was finished money. Then he came out of the reason he wanted to buy juice," he said.

After getting the target item, the perpetrator immediately fled.

Realizing that his cellphone had been lost, the victim immediately shouted at the perpetrator. The perpetrator was chased and finally caught by the residents. The perpetrator had become the target of the residents.

"When I checked, my cellphone was gone. I shouted directly. Some ate, the perpetrator was immediately carried and arrested," he said.

Meanwhile, the victim reported the case to the Duren Sawit Police. Currently, the case is still being handled by the Duren Sawit Police.
