Win Wolves, South Korean Star Hwang Hee-chan Hunts Mohamed Salah's Record

South Korean winger Hwang Hee-chan became the star of Wolverhampton Wanderers' victory over Burnley. He also hunted Liverpool forward's goal record, Mohamed Salah.

Hwang saved Wolves after stopping a bad record in the Premier League England match. Yes, he scored his only goal in Wolves' 1-0 win over Burnley at the Molineux Stadium, Wednesday, December 6 in the morning WIB.

A satisfactory result because Gary O'Neill's team still hasn't been able to show consistency.

In the previous three matches that happened to be against London clubs, they recorded a winning once and losing twice in a row.

After a 2-1 win over Totteham Hotspur based in North London, Wolves then lost to West London club Fulham with a score of 3-2.

When they visited Arsenal's headquarters, which is next door to Tottenham, they also had to admit the North London club's lead with a score of 2-1.

When returning home by hosting Burnley, The Wanderers hoped to break that bad trend.

That hope was not in vain. Hwang led Wolves to victory after scoring in 42 minutes. He successfully took advantage of Matheus Cunha's assist.

This is Hwang's eighth goal in the Premier League competition. Interestingly, six of the goals were scored by South Korean national team players at home. It seems that Hwang is already one with Molineux.

With six goals in the home game, Hwang equaled the record for Manchester City striker Erling Haaland, his former colleague at RB Salzburg. This season, Haaland has also scored six goals at Etihad.

Now, Hwang, who faced Evan Dimas et al in the U-19 Asian Cup qualifying match when Indonesia won 3-2 over South Korea in 2013, is chasing Liverpool star Mohamed Salah's home goal record.

He and Haaland are still two goals adrift of Salah who has scored eight goals at Anfield.

O'Neill did not hesitate to praise Hwang. O'Neill said that he felt like he was sure the player would score when he got the ball in the penalty box.

"Everything about him [Hwang] is really impressive. I hope he maintains form until the end of the season," said O'Neill.

"I always feel good if he has got the ball in the penalty area. He is always in the right position when he is in that area," he said again.

Hwang made O'Neill able to breathe a sigh of relief because Wolves had struggled at the bottom. The win over Burnley put the black wolf's head in 12th place with 18 points.

At least, Wolves are already in the middle board even though that position can change again, depending on the results of the match Thursday, December 7 in the morning WIB.

Burnley himself failed to improve his position after losing. Burnley, who only has seven points, is in the relegation zone by ranking 17 or one strip from below

Even though they only won against the bottom team, O'Neill considered it a big win.

"It's a big win for us. Because we face a good opponent. They are a competitive team. So I'm happy with this result. For me it's a big win," said O'Neill.
