Gather Donations From Provincial And Community Employees, West Sumatra Distributes IDR 2.4 Billion To Palestine

SUMBAR - The Provincial Government (Pemprov) of West Sumatra (West Sumatra) distributed donations worth IDR 2.4 billion to help Palestinians who are suffering from war.

"The Rp2.4 billion donation that we distributed is the result of the collection of all employees of the provincial government and the people of West Sumatra," said Deputy Governor (Deputy Governor) of West Sumatra Audy Joinaldy in Padang, Friday, November 10, as reported by Antara.

He said that after handing over donations to several institutions after the Hero's Day commemoration ceremony in Padang.

Deputy Governor Audy said that the distribution of the aid was carried out through intermediaries of the distribution of zakat Amil Zakat Infak and Sedekah Muhammadiyah (Lazismu) institutions in West Sumatra, the Madani Welfare Foundation (Yakesma) West Sumatra, and the National Committee for the Palestinian People (KNRP) West Sumatra.

"Although the amount is not much, we hope that this donation from West Sumatra can ease the burden felt by our brothers in Palestine," he said.

Audy said that after the distribution, the West Sumatra Provincial Government would continue to raise donations, including the involvement of the West Sumatra Baznas as the main zakat collector within the West Sumatra Provincial Government.

"Because this is the basis for humanity, we will continue to strive to collect donations. After they are collected, we will distribute them back to the Palestinian people," he said.

On that occasion, Deputy Governor Audy also thanked ASN and the people of West Sumatra for their concern. According to him, what he did was in accordance with the heroic values inherited by the nation's fighters.

The distribution of donations to Palestine, each through representatives of West Sumatra Lazismu worth Rp487,666,860, West Sumatra Yakesma worth Rp975,333,730, and representatives of West Sumatra KNRP worth Rp975,333,720.
