Visiting Supporters are Banned to Watch for Three Years after Making Racial Gesture Against Son Heung-min
JAKARTA - A fan of the visiting team was given a ban on watching football in the stadium for three years for making racial gestures towards Tottenham Hotspur striker, Son Heung-min. This was revealed by the club on Wednesday, November 8.
The incident occurred when Tottenham won a 1-0 home match over Crystal Palace last May. The fan who committed the offense was arrested and charged with a racially motivated public order offense.
The spectator, who pleaded guilty, was initially sentenced to 60 hours of community service and fined.

But police appealed the original sentence after Tottenham raised their concerns over the perceived light sentence. Finally, after an appeal, the sentence was issued, banning viewing.
"The club does not tolerate discrimination in any form and will always strive for the strongest possible action against those responsible," said a statement from Tottenham.
The ban on watching football matches at this stadium is common in England. This is not the first time a court has given punishment for the behavior of supporters.
