Denmark Open 2023 Top 16 Match Schedule: 7 Indonesian Representatives Ready to Fight
JAKARTA - The 2023 Denmark Open badminton tournament has entered the round of 16. A total of seven Indonesian representatives will fight to win tickets to the quarter-finals of the BWF Super 750 tournament, Thursday, October 19.
One of the representatives who will play is the men's doubles bagas Maulana/Muhammad Shohibul Fikri. They will meet tough opponents, namely the fourth seeds from South Korea, Kang Min-hyuk/Seo Sung-jae.
"It's quite tough but we want to focus on providing optimal resistance," said Fikri in a written statement released by Indonesian Badminton Association (PBSI).
Based on BWF meeting records, the Indonesian duo lost in their first meeting against Kang/Seo, which occurred in the quarter-finals of the China Open 2023, September.
Apart from Bagas/Fikri, mixed doubles Dejan Ferdinansyah/Gloria Emanuelle Widjaja will also face tough opponents. This pair is the only representative of Indonesia in the mixed doubles sector.
Dejan/Gloria must meet world number one Zheng Si Wei/Huang Ya Qiong from China, as reported by Antara.
The other five Indonesian representatives who will compete are Gregoria Mariska Tunjung, Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto, Hendra Setiawan/Mohammad Ahsan, Febriana Dwipuji Kusuma/Amallia Cahaya Pratiwi, and Anthony Sinisuka Ginting.
