Sofyan Amrabat's Reaction Debuts At Old Trafford: This Is A Perfect Night
JAKARTA Sofyan Amrabat called his debut with Manchester United (MU) at Old Trafford Stadium the perfect night for him during his career as a footballer.
The Morocco international played 61 minutes as a starter in MU's 3-0 win over Crystal Palace in the English League Cup, Wednesday, September 27 in the morning WIB.
"I thought it was a perfect night. We played very well and most importantly won 3-0. I played for an hour. So I think it was a perfect night," Amrabat was quoted as saying by Sky Sports.
The 27-year-old joins the club on loan for a season from Fiorentina. Despite his debut, he immediately showed extraordinary adaptability.
He was the first Morocco player to play for United. He said after the game that he had worked for a lifetime to get the chance to defend the Red Devils.
"Since I was a child, I worked for this. I worked very hard throughout my career, my whole life for this. Playing here was amazing," said the Dutchman.
Amrabat is the coach's main target of Erik ten Hag in last summer's transfer window. They have previously worked together during a short period together at Dutch club FC Twente.
However, a back injury made his debut with the Red Devils had to be delayed. He even said he was not yet at his best due to a lack of training, but he insisted that he would recover soon.
"I told the manager that I would play wherever he needed me, wherever the team needed me, even if it was the goalkeeper," he said.

"I'm not in the best condition right now because I didn't have a perfect pre-season and suffered a little injury.
"I've been training very hard in the last two or three weeks to reach 100 percent. However, I need a game. If you play, you'll be stronger and better," he added.
Amrabat is usually played as a midfielder. However, when he faced Palace he was forced to play left-back as Sergio Reguilon rested.
"I will play where I can help the team. Today I played as a left-back, but I had a little free role and I played a lot in midfield. It was fun," he said.
"I will play where the team needs me, I prefer to play in midfield, but if it's left-back, right left-back," he added.
