Police Arrest 4 Suspects Of STNK Counterfeiters In Karawang
The Karawang Police revealed the practice of falsifying motor vehicle documents that had been going on for about a year in the Karawang Regency area, West Java.
"There are four suspects for falsifying the STNK (vehicle registration number) and BPKB (motorized vehicle owner's book) who were arrested. These four suspects are a gang," said Karawang Police Chief AKBP Wirdhanto Hadicaksono as reported by ANTARA, Friday, September 8.
The four suspects arrested had the initials IS (43), EH (58), AG (61) and AA (61). They were arrested on Monday (4/9), in the areas of West Jomin Village, Kotabaru District, Karawang and in the Sukabumi and Cianjur areas.
"The perpetrators of IS, EH and AG are fake vehicle document makers. Meanwhile, AA is a user of fake vehicle documents," he said.
The practice of falsifying fake vehicle documents was revealed after officers carried out patrols, found a suspicious car passing by.
Then a chase was carried out, and when checked it turned out that the vehicle registration was fake.
After that, said the Police Chief, his party carried out developments and succeeded in uncovering and securing the other perpetrators. So that four perpetrators were arrested.

During the arrest, the police confiscated a number of evidences in the form of a fake STNK number B-2507-KIL of the Daihatsu Terios 1.5 M/T brand, a fake BPKB number B-2507-KIL of the Daihatsu Terios 1.5 M/T brand, as well as a Daihatsu Terios car car number B-2507-KIL.
Other evidence confiscated was a Suzuki APV car vehicle number F-1653-ZS, 38 STNK (material) sheets, five BPKB (material), five police number plates (materials), a computer set, one printer, amplas, one gurinda machine, one hammer and a set of letter taps to change the frame number and engine number.
The police chief said the perpetrators had carried out their actions for a year and succeeded in making 20 fake STNKs and one fake BPKB.
For the manufacture of fake STNK, the tariff is IDR 700 thousand to IDR 5 million, and for the manufacture of fake BPKB it is IDR 1.5 million to 18 million. The total profit earned is IDR 118 million.
For his actions, the perpetrator is now being held at the Karawang Police Headquarters detention center, threatened with Article 263 paragraph (1) and Article 263 paragraph (2) of the Criminal Code with a threat of six years in prison.
