Tucuxi, The Dahlan Iskan Electric Car Project Which By AGO Officials Is Called Failed To Test Emissions

JAKARTA - The seriousness of the Minister of SOEs, Dahlan Iskan, is developing a national electric car project of no two. He is willing to take his own time and money to find Indonesian talents developing electric cars at home and abroad. The electric car experts called the Lightning Son.

Problems arise. Dahlan Iskan's Visionary cannot speak much at the government level. His national electric car project is like being tackled here and there. The Attorney General's Office even considers Dahlan's electric car not to be roadworthy and failed to pass the emission test.

Perhaps no one is more serious about developing the national electric car project than the figure of Dahlan Iskan. The Minister of SOEs from the 2011-2014 era had predicted that Indonesia would not be able to depend on fuel oil (BBM) forever. Moreover, Indonesian oil production continues to decline.

Dahlan views relying on oil imports is clearly not a solution. He wants Indonesia to stop depending on fuel. He then fought for the idea that Indonesia could make electric cars and mass-produced cars.

Dahlan's idea initially received support from here and there. Widjajono Partowidagdo, especially. Deputy Minister of Energy for Mineral Resources (ESDM) became the main supporter and discussion partner Dahlan in planning his project.

Dahlan also began to search for the nation's men's talent who could develop a national electric car. He did the search not long ago. At home and abroad. The search also brought results. He was able to persuade the figures of Mario Rivaldi, Dasep Ahmadi, Ravi Desai, Danet Suryatama, and Ricky Elson as the last pieces to build a national electric car.

The talent is called Dahlan as the Son of Lightning. Dahlan is optimistic that these names can develop the national electric car industry. Dahlan's plan then received great attention from President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY).

The number one person in Indonesia then gave Dahlan support. Even though Dahlan himself actually spent a lot of money from his personal pocket to realize Indonesia's dream of having a national electric car.

"To the four people, I have also informed how much President SBY paid attention to this national electric car plan. I also put forward the atmosphere of the meeting between President SBY and the four leading rectors (ITB, UGM, UI, and ITS) who were full of enthusiasm."

At that time, the rectors stated that they really supported the birth of this nasal car and it was time to give birth. The rectors also stated that each university was ready to provide any support," explained Dahlan Iskan in the book Manufacturing Hope, Bisa! (2012).

The development of the national electric car project is entering a serious stage. Putra Lightning began to car the greatness of creating a national electric car. The recitation brought results. A prototype car named Tucuxi was born. Then, followed by Selo to Gendhis cars.

Dahlan had introduced the prototype of the national electric car in a variety of celebrations. From domestic celebrations to international levels. The response received was positive. However, Dahlan and all the Prince of Lightning had to bite their fingers.

Electric cars that are actually Indonesia's first dream of making electric cars like being tackled by many parties in 2013. Not yet what Dahlan's electric car project is considered not to be running. In fact, the funny thing is again, the Head of the Sub-Directorate for Investigation of Special Crimes at the AGO, Sarjono Turin, said that Dahlan's row of electric cars failed to test emissions.

"The car did not pass the emission test, especially since the test results of this car drive are dangerous if used on public roads. We show the public electric car by the nation's children who are proud of it is not feasible and cannot be used," said Turin as quoted by Merdeka.com, June 23, 2015.

The statement then provoked a polemic. All Indonesians were furious with Turin's statement. This is because electric cars do not produce emissions. Even emissions only result from cars with internal combustion engines (ICE) or conventional cars.

The case of the outbreak of the issue of emission test failure made Ricky Elson, who incidentally was one of the sons of Lightning in the Dahlan Iskan era, speak up in 2021. He was forced to speak up as many videos emerged insinuating the government that failed to understand electric cars.

Ricky thinks Turin's car is Dasep's engineered car. According to Ricky, the car is not running well because it was made as a prototype. Not intended for mass production and sale. It is clearly impossible regarding the failure of emission tests. The electric car was considered never tested for emissions. Even though tested, it is clear that electric cars do not issue emissions.

"We were dragged by this misunderstanding so that it brought a negative impression, brought a negative aura on the side of young people who were excited about developing technology. 'Cook up? It doesn't make sense, how come electric cars don't pass the emission test?'

"But at that time I was actually trying to make a post. But it turns out that this cannot stop the strong storm of issues about the failure of this emission test," Ricky said in his live Instagram at @ricky_elson as quoted by Kompas.com, September 19, 2021.
