Google Play Points Will Be Able To Use To Get Gifts At Walmart+ And Discord

JAKARTA - During Google Play Live, YouTube's annual interactive live stream on August 31 announced its latest offerings in apps and games, as well as new items to be redeemed with Play Points.

Google Play Points is Google's award program, which was first introduced in 2019. Initially, Play Points was designed to offer facilities to customers who download new apps, subscribe to services and buy movies, books, and more from the Play Store.

In return, they will receive points that can be redeemed for things like in-app purchases or used as credit that can be used to rent movies or buy audio books.

Through this second Google Play Live announcement. The points collected by Android users will now be redeemed with offers from partners outside of Google itself, such as Walmart +, DoorDash and Discord.

However, Google says that the ability to redeem gifts from Walmart +, DoorDash and Discord partners will be available in the coming weeks, not now.

"In the coming weeks, Google Play Points Platinum members will be able to choose from a series of special facilities: 6 months of Walmart + membership, 6 months of Dash Pass by DoorDash, or 6 months of Nitro Discord," wrote Chris Iannuccilli, Senior Marketing Director, Google Play in Google blog.

Additionally, Google is partnering with 10 game developers, so you can redeem your Play Points for exclusive game items for several titles, including Lord's Mobile: Kingdom Wars, PUBG MOBILE, Match Masters, Evony: The King's Return and Clash of Clans.

Plus, the company will also introduce offerings on a variety of popular apps and games, including Bumble (Special Spotlight), Candy Crush Saga (a 2x added value on certain prizes), Duolingo (one month free trial), Gardenscapes (up to 80% savings on special events) and RAID: Shadow Legends (50% more essential material and resource awards).
